I really don't have much to talk about since my last post. I just got home from working my first 24 hour shift. I got a total of three hours sleep. I'm not sleeping yet... because I decided to make an appointment with a massotherapist to see if that would help my back. I'm kind of excited though I don't like people I don't know touching me. Hopefully I can relax enough to enjoy it.

Remember me talking about the "promotion" I was given at work? Well it was taken away. Someone complained to the management that the position wasn't posted for all the employees to bid on. A bunch of people were moved around at work to different positions. None of these people had to bid on their positions the boss put them there. Mine is the only one. To top it off I have to work in the position until September 1st until the new person takes over. I don't have enough seniority yet to win the bid. So asked if I could go back to my old position and was told someone had already filled it. So as of September 1 I have no idea what shift I will be working or if I will even have a job. I am soooooo mad.

On the lighter side I did have time to work on my sampler yesterday at work. It is so funny whenever I pull it out to work on people are always amazed. LOL My old partner kept asking me if I was knitting. Seriously! Anyway, I am making progress.

I had a day off on Saturday so while was Steve was away helping his parents I decided to get started on my make do chair. I showed you a picture a few days back. Well, you don't have to look because we changed it a bit. So for now I am keeping it a secret until it's done. I can show you this though.

This will be my slipcover for the chair. And let me tell you I'm glad I bought a few extra yards of fabric because I can't add and measure. LOL. I kept telling myself I wasn't going to mess up and that I would take my time. Well, lets just say I cut two pieces of fabric wrong. Then I couldn't get my seams to match up the way I wanted. It took a good bit of the day. Now I am so excited about how it's going to look. I just need to paint and spruce up the "chair" part before I show you.

Oh and I bought the new color for my living room walls. Steve says we can paint this weekend. I need to take stuff down off the walls and fill holes so that I have a blank canvas to start with. The color is "Caramel" and from Lowe's. I even picked out my kitchen color too. But that will wait a few as I need to finish getting the border off the walls. Steve wanted to paint the walls green in the kitchen. Not just any green but pistachio pudding green. I finally talked him out of it and it too will be neutral. Then he wanted to do an accent wall red with neutral. Don't get me wrong I like the idea, but this is a rental and it would be hard to paint over later. That and to me that's not the look I want.

Anyway, I'd better get cracking in case I take a nap later I need to get some things done. I'll try to catch up with all of you later today.

  4. Waiting to see the chair! New paint how nice & I think your paint color will be great. You have a wonderful eye for blending colors with ever thing in your room. When I was working I did a job for many yrs and the Co. down sized by letting my boss go then put me in his position over all the others I worked with & no extra pay for a # of those yrs. The company later decided they needed some one with a degree. They hired that person with the degree. However she did not even know what she was doing and I then was told I had to train her. She had the engineers degree but could not even read a blueprint. I was not happy. Then she told others she felt threatened by me & did every thing to get rid of me until I finally took another job I did not want or like. Things seem to be so unfair in many work places. What ever happened to treating good employees good. I sure hope you still have a job and that it will be one you like. Hope your feeling better soon to.

  5. I don't know touching me either. I have a bad disk and scoliosis,so my back neck and shoulders are always aching. My husband say's go get a massage, but I won't go. I'd rather have him rub my back.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed your massage and I look forward to seeing our make-do chair.

  6. That's stinks about your job issues! I hope they work out in your favor.
The stitchery looks great. I need to be doing something to stay busy.
I hope the painting turns out nice. My living/family room is also caramel.
    Take care!
