Preliminary Fall Decorating

I have been struggling this year to decorate my home for fall. I have no idea why. It might be that I received my Christmas issue of Country Sampler the day I was working on it. LOL. Not really I was struggling before that even. I LOVE fall I LOVE the colors that go with fall. I have a TON of fall decorations. Three totes to be exact. I am just not pleased with where I put things and end up moving it or putting it back in the box. Anyway, I did do some decorating. The main room I'm now having trouble with is my dining room. I think what I might have to do is take everything off the shelves and start over instead of adding stuff here and there. Not sure I will have time today because it's my day off and I have a boat load of stuff to get done. Anyway, enough of the blabbing. I'll show you the start of my decorating...

And now I have all this left. LOL.

OK now I have a few questions for you. Do you use pine cones in your fall decorating? I'm thinking I am going too. Does any one still decorate with a wrought iron basket tree? Remember when these were popular? I still have one in my garage. I still have a ton of fall Longaberger baskets from years ago. Not sure if I want to use them in my dining room or where. Or if at all.

I must apologize to all my faithful comment leavers and readers. Is "leavers" a word? LOL. Probably not!!! Anyway, I have been so busy recently I haven't had time to read any blogs. I hope to very soon. It's suppose to rain today so I will be in the house unless I paint my TV stand in the garage. Thanks again for stopping by.

  1. Well, I always love seeing your displays and Fall is a favorite decorating motivator for me, but I'm struggling a bit in this apartment this year. I will go down and get my totes out of the storage closet and see what's there. I love pine cones and think they transition so well using them from fall right into Christmas. Use em! Happy Decorating

  3. If it's any consolation to you Mary, I've been having the same dilema and for the life of me can't understand it! I LOVE FALL and usually can't wait to get it all out. I'm dragging and it's so not like me. May have something to do with me not feeling well these last several weeks-my lack of getting around do to the right knee pain and now the left! Arthritis in both legs?!?! anyway, I'm hoping I get with it soon or I may have to jump right into Christmas! *LOL*
Hope you have a great day off.
    Blessings to you~

  4. Hi Mary!

I think what you have done looks great! Sometimes less is more.

I have some Longaberger baskets too, but I did sell my iron basket tree a few years ago. Most of my baskets are packed away, but I do have a few out that we use.

I love pinecones! A friend of mine tries to get a pinecone everywhere she travels. Its neat to see how different some are. I think natural items make some of the best seasonal decorations.

    Have a happy day!

  9. I'm like that when it comes to Christmas. My fall just seems to fall into place and I like it. It's quick and easy but Christmas on the other hand stresses me out and kicks my booty! I have no idea why.

Everything looks great Mary! I put some pine cones out in November and for some reason they seemed out of place. I don't know why because any kind of naturals should go well with fall. So I put them up to use for Christmas.
