Good Morning

I have to apologize about my absence this past week. It was one of those weeks where you seem to have a lot going on and you are running here and there. The original Gettysburg Homestead went up for sheriff's auction this past week. This auction completes any tie to my ex-husband other than my son. I have also been dealing with another issue that has been some what resolved last week. I also went to the doctor because of my upper back and shoulder pain issue. He has definitively said fibromyalgia, but he still wants me to have a bone density test this week to rule out early menopause and osteoporosis. He said that he has no way of telling if my ovaries are still working due to my partial hysterectomy a few years back. At least my deductible is paid already :) I know I said I was going to work on my curtains in my last post, but I haven't gotten to them yet. I just need to sit down and draw out my pattern if I ever find my big roll of paper that seemed to have grown legs and walked away. LOL.

I have been working on a few mini quilts since we last talked though. I know I should be working on Christmas stuff, BUT I LOVE fall and the beautiful colors that go along with it. I will continue to have my fall decorations up until after Thanksgiving, so I am still making things for fall. Anyway, I will be listing the mini quilts on my blog selling blog after I get them finished up. I am using the same material I used in my bigger quilt. These are also hand quilted, which seems to be going quite well this time around.

All I have left on this one is the binding...

I have to quilt a few more places then put the binding on and it too will be finished.

I've done a little Goodwill shopping too. I wasn't there for me, but for my son. He needed some more jeans. But since I was already there I looked around too. I will show you a few things that I found.

I have seen a lot of people finding these candle boxes. Up until now I haven't been able to find one. I'm still thinking of color, but I will be painting this.

I apologize for the photo, but I like this little cute Christmas looking bowl. There are a few waxy red spots in it, but if I put something in it you'll never see them.

I just LOVE the look of old books. I found these. Two of them were 88% off and then I got one free because it has been sitting there since July. I think I'm going to cover the free one with fabric since it's binding is missing.

I also found this pitcher for $10. It has a chip on the other side, but I figure turn it around like I did for the picture and no one will notice.

Like I said I found a few more things, but I'll save those for another day. I think I will try to do some redoes and repainting today. We will see because there is quite a bit of house work that needs to be done too. But if I'm going to coffee stain some fabric today would be the day. It's a bit chilly outside, but the sun is shining and should dry the fabric quite quickly. Well, I need another cup of coffee and then I'm off to start my day. I hope your have a great Monday!

  7. Sounds like you had a lot going on. That's what I love about crafting... it relaxes you and lets you just concentrate on the moment. Your quilting projects are coming along nicely! I too love the colors of fall and finding myself gravitating towards those colors more and more.

You've got me itching to hit a thrift store again! I adore old books, those are wonderful! Lots of great goodies!
