My camera is now up and running again. I managed to get a two projects done this week. But of course I couldn't go without Goodwill shopping too.
First, this is what I did with that ticking fabric I showed you earlier. Not very exciting a towel.
This is where it gets exciting. I have had this chair for years. It was bought at at an auction by someone else and then they decided they didn't want it and gave it to me. You like all my junk laying around it that I haven't put away. The eggs to the right I just bought for 50% off.
The seat is falling apart a little.
While shopping this weekend I saw this really cool chair cover. So of course I had to inspect. No, I didn't take the cover off!!!! LOL But I could feel the chair underneath and I moved the display a little to see the construction. I thought it was an awesome idea. So I came home and sewed it and coffee stained it on Tuesday. Then of course it was so humid outside it wouldn't dry. So finally yesterday I rag stuffed the seat and finished it. Now all I need is a little pillow to lean on it.
There is something about using ticking I really have always loved.( and have a nostalgic love of) I remember mom sewing pillows for our beds using it and stuffing the pillows with goose down. a neat chair!! cindy

ReplyDeleteYou are so talented! Love the chair!! And I do love the ticking towel....reminds me of one that I saw in AR on my first visit to my ex's grandfathers house.... I loved it then, of course, then, I had no idea what "primitive" was!!!
ReplyDeleteMary, I love it, great job!!
ReplyDeleteThe cover is very prim and awesome, Mary :) I just got a nice little stool very similar to your chair that is also falling apart. I'm still trying to decide what to do with it. I don't think anyone could EVER actually use it but it was free and old, so I took it :)
