It is Wednesday right? Seems like I've lost track of time here lately. I have worked I've worked every day except Saturday until today. I know what you're thinking big deal, but all those days were 15 hour days. Yuck!!!! It's getting old. However, on Saturday Steve took me to the Cheesecake Factory in Beechwood, which is near Cleveland. Oh my word it was really good. I would've loved to take pictures of the inside of the restaurant, but I'm sure people would've stared at me funny. Kinda like I did the guy who came in with a video camera and was taping it lol. It must have been Homecoming somewhere nearby because there were teenagers dressed up in suits and dresses. Is it just me or are some of these dresses getting short on some of these girls. OH MY!!! I almost saw some things that should've been covered. Steve pointed out this one girls shoes that were nearly 5-6" high with all kind of straps on them. He called them "stripper shoes" I nearly died. LOL. I guess I'm old because I wouldn't have let my 14 year old walk out of the house in some of these outfits.
Anyway, you came to see what I've been working on so...
I am not done with this ...yet. This is one of those preprinted pillow sham things you can buy pretty cheap. I found them at the Goodwill a couple weeks ago. I tried to quilt them then coffee stain them to look old. Next step is to get Steve to cut a back for the window so I can mount them and hang it.
Next is this snowman. Remember I told you I bought a pattern down in Berlin. This is it. It is by Sunnyknoll. I of course am not done with this either. I coffee stained it this morning just waiting for it to dry to add the finishing touches. This snowman really isn't my style so I will probably sell it. But I had fun making it.
Next we have a tavern sign... I can't decide what I want to put on it yet. I'd like to put a horse, but I don't have a stencil.
Now I did finish some things. I went and got more stain and shoe polish. I've been reading where some ladies like to use shoe polish to stain, so I thought I'd try it. Are you wondering if I've been thinking about Christmas??? Not really the stencil is the only one I had to fit the wood. LOL.
Next is my old trash find table. Yep I pulled it out of the trash while the lady was standing there. I even asked if I could have it. LOL. It's in my son's room for now until I can decide where I want to put it.
Then my OLD ebay purchase that the seller took forever to send me. I'm not bitter trust me. LOL. It was a very cheaply made quilt rack with hearts on the side. Steve cut out the hearts and just made round holes before I could tell him what I wanted to do. Oh well it is what it is. Anyway, black was in order.
Anyway, lots to do today. Orthodontist this afternoon and choir concert tonight, which we still need to get black pants for. Procrastination at it's best. LOL.
Thanks to all those that have signed up for the swap. I think this will be both fun and interesting. If you haven't signed up there is still time.
Morning! It is good to see you! I have missed you! I have always wondered what to do with those hearts. Sometimes you can hide them, sometimes not...never thought about just whacking 'em out! Jan
ReplyDeleteI was tried reading your post! That's a lot of hours you are working - I am so glad you have Steve to take you out for a well deserved meal break!!
ReplyDeleteI think your snowman is too cute. Can't wait to see the sign completed.
