Where Does Time Go

I know it has been awhile since I lasted posted. I have no idea where time went. I planned on posting Wednesday, but I was here and there running around and crafting all day that it just slipped away. So I am hoping you didn't give up on me. LOL.

Back to Wednesday...

I finished my last bowl... if you'll remember this bowl.

It is now this bowl...

Now I am at the point of trying to figure out which ones I want for my wall. Please let me know your opinions. You all know I value them. I, with the help of Steve, will be drilling holes in my bowls this weekend and I only want to do three of them. So please cast your votes.

#1 All 3 of the new ones I just painted...

#2 the top one is a bright green that I will be darkening with stain... if chosen

or #3 same thing as #2 top bowl

I really can't decide so please tell me what you think.

I finally finished hand quilting the blocks of my quilt. After trying to figure out how to do it, and many nights of only a couple blocks at a time, and getting a callous on my thumb it turned out OK. I think. LOL

I now need to decide how to do the borders. I don't want a fancy design obviously. I also don't know how or what to make my lines with to quilt on. I want the lines to wash out obviously. If you have any hints please let me know so I can finish up my fall quilt. LOL. yea yea don't say it I already know. PROCRASTINATOR!!!!!!! LOL

Last night my microwave blew up while my children were here alone. That was a treat to get a call at work from my kids that the microwave is smoking. I have no idea what happened but my son was making microwave mac n cheese with no metal on the bowl. Next thing I know they said it was smoking. They called Steve first(before me) and he told them to unplug it from the wall and open the windows. So they did then went next door to their friends house til I got home from work. I open the door and the container had basically melted and the mac n cheese was black and hard as a rock. The microwave was old and had been acting up so I don't think it was my kids. LOL. But man did it stink in my house. It was worse than burnt popcorn!!!!! So now I have to buy a new one. Oh well, I've seen them pretty cheap at Wal-mart though Steve says he has one in his basement we can use.

OK a little venting. Short and sweet I promise ;-) I just found out the house my ex and I bought (that he is living in) has not had a payment made since September. The bank is calling my job looking for me to make the payments. The property taxes and insurance are paid out of escrow and there is not enough to cover them. I am so angry but my hands are tied and I can't afford the payments either. Looks like foreclosure here we come!!!! GRRR...... and I'm not even living there!!!!!! OK Done... short and sweet.

  1. Love the quilt you did a great job on it...I think I like the 2nd picture of the bowls better then the 1st only because the sizing is better.

Hang on with the problems with the x soon it will become a distant memory:)

  2. Your bowls turned out great! I do think I like the first pic for a wall display. Too bad about your microwave! I know that stuff stinks when it burns in there! What a beautiful quilt! Can't wait to see it finished!

  3. Wow! I love the way that last bowl turned out! I never thought of making the inside a different color-- neat idea. I work at Hobby Lobby and we always have those wooden bowls or plates after the holidays that no one wants... every single holiday! I need to start snatching them up. Thanks for the inspiration!

I LOVE the colors in your quilt! They are beautifully matched. It's going to be so worth it when you're finished with it. I can't call you a procrastinator... I have projects that I've been working years on. Lol! That's because I get too many ideas off of all of you prim girls out there. =]

Sorry you are dealing with the house/ex situation. Been there done that many years ago. It was agonizing the crap we went through. Just don't give up hope. Sorry to say, but it might even get worse before it gets better. My ordeal was 15 years ago and I'm happy to say that I'm very happily married now and life couldn't be better. Just hold on, Rondell is right. Soon it will become a distant memory

  7. OK I vote for #1...I love the color on the big bowl..cute arrangement with the 3 in a row. Quilting suggestion for your borders...I love cross-hatching, and I use the narrow tape (1/4" like masking tape, purchased at the autoparts store) to guide me (it is forgiving with the off and on for working out the spacing)...I end up playing with the criss-crossing, starting in the middle of the wide border,...kind of elongated (stretched out)and criss-crossed :>)...I wish I could draw it for you! The narrow border I would be inclined to do in the ditch, so as to not confuse the criss-cross of the wide border! I love the colors of your quilt!! Very scarey on the microwave problem...out it goes! As for the X and the morgage...that stinks! Keep the faith, God will work it out with you! Have a great weekend!

  8. Gotta say I'm with Char ....I like #3 the best. Sorry to hear about the troubles with your ex.Is your name still on the morgage ? If your divorce settlement left him the house then they shouldn't be bothering you ! Hope it all works out as I'm sure it will but I know it's frustrating. I have one of those ex's myself ;0) Ohhhh and love the quilt colors. I've never tried to make a quilt but may just have to give it a try soon!

  11. God bless those ex's cuz someone has to! lol For sure you aren't blessing him....lol Why do they do things like that. It hurts your credit as well....but I think it will be just fine....keep thinking good thoughts. Get rid of it and then you won't have to think about it anymore.

Oh man, the microwave thing could have been so much worse. Glad the kids had sense to leave for next door just in case something else was going on they couldn't see.

    Have a good one!

  13. I like photo #1. Your quilt looks fantabulous! You did a great job. I would buy one of those water soluble pens from the fabric store. Draw your lines with a ruler and then mist with a spray bottle to make them disappear. (make sure you don't get the disappearing pens because the ink sometimes goes away before youre finished)
So sorry to hear about your house. That is such a pity. :(
    Take care.
